20 Slides, 5 Minutes – What would you say?
Like a 140 Character tweet, you have 20 slides on auto-pilot, advancing every 15 seconds to tell your story. Consider it a modern day poetry reading for the artsy-techy crowd. Ignite Wilmington is meant to bring people together to share ideas and have fun.
Ignite Wilmington is an information exchange for fostering and inspiring Wilmington’s creative community. In one evening, you hear up to 18 passionate speakers from our creative and technical communities talking about interesting their current projects or favorite ideas for just five minutes. Presentations will educate and inspire you, and maybe make you laugh in the process.
Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis. Since then 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world. There are thriving Ignite communities in Seattle, Portland, Paris, and NYC.
We are looking for speakers for our first event. If you, or someone you know, has a great story worth telling, please let us know! We welcome topics about anything that other people will find interesting. That’s a wide criteria and that’s just fine. There is a wide mix of topics. If you’re not interested in the current topic, all you have to do is wait for 5 minutes and a new one starts.
